Immigration salary requirements for 2024
The immigration thresholds for 2024 are:
- Highly skilled migrant > 30 years: €5331 per month
- Highly skilled migrant < 30 years: € 3909 per month
- Highly skilled migrant reduced salary requirement (after a search/orientation year): € 2801
- European Blue Card: € 6245
30% ruling thresholds for 2024
The below salaries are preliminary. It’s our experience that those amounts will be officially confirmed in the course of December.
Regular threshold: more than € 46,107 (2023: € 41,954)
Threshold < 30 years with acknowledged master degree: more than € 35,048 (2023: € 31,891)
Other immigration/30% ruling and tax developments for 2024
- Asylum seekers can work the entire year, no limitations for number of weeks they can work anymore. We will publish a news item about this soon.
- 30% ruling will be further limited, see /2023/10/30-ruling-in-2024-new-limits/.
- Partial foreign tax liability will be abolished as of 1 January 2025. This means that from 2025 onwards, incoming employees will be taxed in the regular way for income in Box 2 (income from significant interest) and Box 3 (income from savings and investments).
